About Carol Brook, Mel Brook, and Dar Saucedo
Carol Brook: Leather Artist, Carol Brook, finds inspiration in leather since it offers many possibilities with the different textures and finishes. Her vision of how the leather wants its history and story represented is reflected in her artwork. She hand selects each vegetable-tanned leather hide embracing all the holes, markings and texture knowing the original fibers of the hide add character to her artwork. These unique features are purposely worked into her leather vessels creating interest and a focal point.
Mel Brook: Acrylic Artist, Mel Brook, uses inspiration from living in Arizona and the Southwest creating acrylic paintings with a rich color of depth and texture. Acrylics allows him to focus on details such as Native American baskets and pottery which is his passion. The paintings replicate designs from historic pottery ranging from early American to modern aesthetics. Mel also enjoys painting many other subject matters such as landscapes, old vehicles and Southwestern lifestyle.
Dar Saudeco: Having lived in the Southwest United States for over 40 years, Dar has ong enjoyed experimenting with a wide range of desert materials in her workshop. From gourds to desert clay, she has found ways to turn these materials into beautiful and even whimsical canvases for customers to enjoy. She decided to harness this passion and her talent to bring her art to a wider audience. She hopes you enjoy her collections.
