Handbuilding in clay
In this class, students will have the opportunity to explore and experiment with hand building techniques. Skills in hand building such as slab building, coiling, pinch pots, wall pieces, press molds, and drape molds will be explored. Cone 5 glazes are available, and we can explore glaze combinations to learn more about glazing and adding color to our pieces. All experience levels with clay are welcome and bring your creativity.
Additional dates are February 6, February 13, February 20, and February 27.
Supplies to Bring: An apron or dress to be messy.
Supplies Provided by Host: Clay is provided for each session. You will have access to tools and shared glazes in the Art Loft.
Registration and Payment: Complete the registration form and send with payment to Danielle Wood. to secure your place and register. Payment instructions are included on the registration form. Danielle will contact you with a confirmation email. Payment is preferred a week before classes begin or on the first day of class. Cancellation policy: 8+ days before the first class for a full refund. No refunds for cancellations within 7 days of the first class.

About the Host: Danielle Wood is a local valley artist that works primarily in clay, exploring the medium through sculpture and installation. She holds her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Arizona State University and her Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from New Mexico State University. She currently teaches at Trilogy, Glendale Community College, Benedictine University, and Shemer Art Center.
